Very excited to get our firewood moisture tester from Germany. Just gave it a trial run on some of our wood and a bag of wood from one of competitors from out of town. Cromwell Farms wood came out on top with a lower moisture reading and good looks. Have a look at the readings.
While I was doing my homework on ideal moisture I came across the Firewood Association of Australia. Called them to find out more and we are in the process of becoming associate members of this great organisation. I got a chance to chat with Greg Barnes on the phone and he confirmed that in Australia moisture content under 25% is fine for burning. Ideal percentage is 12% which is bang on what our wood measured at.
