Dan Hill gave me a hand yesterday getting Gypsy out of the paddock and into her farrowing pen. It was definitely time to make the move as she was being harassed by the other piglets who seem to be getting excited about her milk coming in . She was weaned on April 25 (thank goodness for this blog) and we put Barney over her about 3 days later. Gestation is 114 days in length (+/- 2 days) or 3 months, 3 weeks, and 3 days so that works out to mmmm 137 days. Looks like Barney may have fired a blank. Estrus in pigs is 17-21 days so hopefully she is getting close.
