- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 1 1/2 to 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 to 1 cup buttered fresh bread crumbs*
